RAKKA: From Music Project to Immersive Visual Novel

Hey, I’m GITGOT, a musician, writer, and artist from Rotterdam, and I’d love to share my project with you—RAKKA: WAKE 01 – SOOT, a visual novel that blends storytelling, music, and atmospheric visuals into one experience.

RAKKA began in 2018 as a conceptual animation and music project—a way for me to experiment with sound, mood, and narrative. Over time, it evolved into something bigger, and now, with the help of PMT Games Division and a fantastic team of artists and musicians, it’s becoming a fully realized game.

Set in 1993 London, the story follows Rakka, a burned-out office worker who stumbles upon a strange code hidden in a work-related care package. From there, things start to shift in eerie, unexpected ways. It’s a slow-burn mystery, where the story unfolds through dialogue, environmental details, and an immersive soundtrack.

The game features a layered, paper-cut art style, fluid animation, and an original soundtrack that pulls players into its dreamlike atmosphere. Music and sound have always been central to my creative process, and with RAKKA, I wanted every element—the visuals, the music, the narrative—to feel deeply connected.

As a female artist in the indie space, I’m passionate about pushing the boundaries of storytelling in games. RAKKA isn’t just a game to me—it’s a personal, hand-crafted project, made with love by an incredible team of collaborators. If you’re interested, you can check out the full trailer and demo on our Steam page. Thanks for reading—I’d love for you to experience RAKKA, and I hope it resonates with you!
